More than 100 newly elected or appointed judges gathered at the Unified Court System's Judicial Institute's 2019 New Judges Program, which started Monday, January 7 on the Pace University Campus in White Plains. The week-long program offered sessions with topics ranging from "The Art of Judging" and "Case Management" to "Ten Things Every New Judge Should Know." It was a diverse group. Fifty of the 104 new judges were women. Several of the new judges had previously served in other elected positions including Matthew Titone, a former Staten Island assemblyman, and Thomas Zugibe, a former Rockland County district attorney.
