• Former chief counsel of the Federal Railroad Administration, Juan D. Reyes III, has rejoined Seyfarth Shaw as a partner in the firm's real estate department and public-private partnership practice.
• Rimon Law has added Ray Garcia as a partner in their entertainment, sports & recreational law team. He joins from BCM Entertainment Group, where he was founder and president.
• Joyce Smith has been promoted to executive assistant district attorney for Community Relations at the Nassau County District Attorney's Office. She was formerly deputy executive ADA for Community Relations.
• Joshua Soszynski has joined Goodwin as partner in its private equity. He joins from Kirkland & Ellis.
• Armstrong Teasdale has hired Andrew Brucker, Jeffery Dayon, Saul Mishaan, Charles Palella, Isaac Saufer, Howard Schechter, Julie Schechter and Phyllis Weisberg as partners in the firm's newly opened New York office.
• Michael Contos has joined Wilk Auslander as counsel in the firm's construction law, commercial real estate and litigation practices. He joins from Marcus Rosenberg & Diamond.
• Validity has hired William Marra as portfolio counsel. He joins from Washington, D.C.-based Cooper & Kirk following a judicial clerkships for Justice Samuel Alito of the U.S. Supreme Court. The firm has also added former federal Judge John Gleeson, a partner at Debevoise & Plimpton, as outside counsel to advise on investment opportunities
• Mintz & Gold has added four new partners: Charles (Chuck) Ross will join the firm's White Collar Criminal Defense and Investigations practice; Andrew Gottesman will lead the firm's new bankruptcy and restructuring practice, and Kevin Goering will join the firm's media, intellectual property, and freedom of information laws group. Before joining, each had their own law firms. Roger Stavis, also joining the firm's white collar criminal defense and investigations practice as a partner, was formerly with Gallet, Dreyer & Berkley.
• Schiff Hardin has added Kayvan Sadeghi as a partner in the firm's litigation and dispute resolution practice group. He was formerly with Morrison Foerster.
• Greenspoon Marder has hired Jonathan Weiss and Robert Reichman as partners. Prior to joining the firm, they were both partners at Wilk Auslander. The firm has also added Kristin Jordan as senior counsel. She was previously of counsel and chair of the cannabis practice group at Newman Ferrara.
• Littler has added Margaret Watson as a shareholder. She joins from McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter.
• Binder & Schwartz has promoted Lindsay Bush to counsel and added two new associates—Gregory Pruden and Zachary Vaughan. In addition, the firm has chosen Robert Fratto, Jr. to serve as director and lead attorney for its eDiscovery practice.

Driscoll from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr have stepped in to represent Symbotic Inc., an A.I.-enabled technology platform that focuses on increasing supply chain efficiency, and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The case is 1:24-cv-07594, Roy v. Ittycheria et al.

Amy O. Bruchs and Kurt F. Ellison of Michael Best & Friedrich have entered appearances for Epic Systems Corp. in a pending employment discrimination lawsuit. The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The case, assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Anita Marie Boor, is 3:24-cv-00630, Secker, Nathan v. Epic Systems Corporation.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
