Comcast Corporation has named Thomas Reid as senior executive vice president, general counsel, and secretary of the company. He will join the company in April from Davis Polk & Wardwell.
Akerman has added Alan Cohen, Randy Eckers, Michael Estreicher and Samuel Lee as partners to join the firm's real estate practice group. They join from Duval Stachenfeld. Cohen will serve as chair of the group. Special counsel Alexander Sokoloff also joins the new team.
Brown Rudnick has announced that William Baldiga will become the firm's chief executive officer and chairman of the management committee, effective upon the retirement of current chief executive officer Joseph Ryan on March 15.
Bobby Sharma has joined Foley & Lardner as special adviser to its sports industry team. He currently serves as chairman of Blue Devil Holdings and is a partner at GACP Sports, positions he will continue to hold.
Venable has hired Patrice Stavile as counsel in the firm's real estate practice. Prior to joining she was general counsel to M1 Real Estate and Façonnable USA.
Morrison Cohen has elected Keith Markel to join Jeffrey Englander as co-chair of the firm's labor and employment law department.
Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp has added Arina Shulga as a partner in the firm's corporate & business transactions department. She joins from Ross & Shulga, a boutique firm she co-founded. In addition, Ignacio Celis-Aguirre has joined the firm as an associate. She was also previously at Ross & Shulga.
Peter Gennuso has joined Drinker Biddle as a partner in the firm's corporate and securities group. He joins from Thompson Hine.

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
