A federal jury in Brooklyn on Friday convicted longtime Queens criminal defense lawyer Scott Brettschneider, who was charged with making false statements to the Federal Bureau of Prisons in an attempt to reduce his client’s three-year prison sentence.

Brettschneider was alleged to have worked with two of his associates to help a client, Richard Marshall, enter a federal substance abuse rehab program to have his sentence reduced, despite having no history of drug problems.
