With reference to the article appearing in the New York Law Journal on Monday, June 24, 2019, titled “Tenants Beware: Your Cure Period May Not Be as Long as You Think,” I wish only to  point out that the three-day statutory notice referenced throughout the article has been modified to 14 days as of June 15, 2019. In addition, under the rent laws of 2019, there are many procedural changes that have been made to the process of bringing nonpayment proceedings. The active landlord/tenant practitioner should carefully review those rules.
