- Irena Royzman has joined Kramer Levin as a partner in the firm's patent litigation practice She joins from Patterson Belknap where she was co-chair of the firm's biotechnology practice.
- Bethany Hills has joined Morrison & Foerster as a partner, with the firm's life sciences group. Formerly, she was chair of the FDA practice at Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo.
- Freeborn & Peters has added Michael Rennock as a partner in the firm's corporate practice group and John McConnell as senior counsel in its litigation group. Rennock was formerly a partner at Steptoe & Johnson. McConnell was a principal at Hargraves, McConnell & Costigan, which combined with Freeborn in 2017.
- Debevoise & Plimpton has hired Margaret Nicholls for the newly-created position of global director of practice management and marketing. She joins from Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. In addition, the firm has promoted Ivona Josipovic and Jaesuk Yoo to counsel.
- McDermott Will & Emery has added Stacie Trott and Pejman Razavilar as partners in the firm's real estate team. They both join from Duval & Stachenfeld.
- Kenneth Cesta has joined Carlton Fields as a member of the firm's property and casualty insurance practice group. Prior to joining, he was a litigation partner with Hoagland Longo Moran Dunst & Doukas, where he served on the firm's technology committee.
- Davis Polk & Wardwell has elected Hilary Dengel, Vanessa Jackson, Yasin Keshvargar, Angela Libby, Evan Rosen, Darren Schweiger and Patrick Sigmon as partners of the firm.
- King & Spalding has added real estate lawyers Scott Levine and Christine O'Connell as partners in the firm's corporate, finance & investments (CFI) practice group. They join from Arnold & Porter, where they were both partners.
- Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp has hired Eleanor Lackman as a partner in its entertainment & IP litigation practice group. She joins from Cowan, DeBaets, Abrahams & Sheppard.
- Eisner has added Kerry Smith as a partner in both the New York and Los Angeles offices. She was most recently the head of the television and film group for Greenspoon Marder. In addition, Eisner has hired Darien Schwartz as an associate. He was also previously with Greenspoon Marder.
- Andy Barton has joined Goodwin Procter as a partner in the firm's ERISA and executive compensation practice. He was previously with Kirkland & Ellis.
- Kelley Drye has elected Brian Foley, Jaclyn Metzinger and Brooke Ringel as partners. In addition, Melissa Gelade, Glenn Graham, Bezalel Stern and Matthew Sullivan were promoted to special counsel.
- Former Zetlin & De Chiara associate Tara Mulrooney has rejoined the firm as a partner. Prior to returning, she served as special counsel at Proskauer Rose.
- Goldberg Segalla has added special counsel Reed Podell to the firm's general liability practice group. He was previously with the Law Office of Tromello & Fishman.
- Loeb & Loeb has hired Schuyler Carroll as a partner in the firm's bankruptcy restructuring and creditors' rights practice. He joins from Perkins Coie.
- Howard Jiang has joined Becker as of counsel in the firm's corporate practice. He was previously a partner at White and Williams.
- Donell L. Gibson, Jr. has joined Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman as an associate in the firm's Buffalo office.
- Andrew Epstein has joined Rivkin Radler as an associate in the firm's trusts & estates practice group.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The case is 1:24-cv-07594, Roy v. Ittycheria et al.

The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The case, assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Anita Marie Boor, is 3:24-cv-00630, Secker, Nathan v. Epic Systems Corporation.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
