Tiffany Cabán carried a major fundraising advantage over Melinda Katz into a recount in the Democratic primary for Queens district attorney, out-raising her opponent by nearly $186,000 in the past 10 days.

According to filings with the state Board of Elections, Cabán, a 31-year-old public defender and political newcomer, brought in $203,090 from 5,609 individual donations between July 1 and July 11. The average donation equaled just $36.21, her campaign said.
