Rachel Sims Leaves Blank Rome To Be Orthodox Union's First GC

• The Orthodox Union, the umbrella organization for the North American Orthodox Jewish community, has named Rachel Sims as its first general counsel. She joins the organization from Blank Rome where she was senior litigator.
• Crowell & Moring has hired S. Starling Marshall as a partner in the firm's tax and litigation groups. She was previously at Covington & Burling. Prior to that, she served as a trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice's Tax Division, Court of Federal Claims Section.
• Laura Siegel Rabinowitz has joined Greenberg Traurig as a shareholder in its international trade practice. She was previously special counsel at Kelley Drye & Warren. In addition, Marc Selden has also joined the firm as a shareholder in its private wealth services practice. He joins from from Cozen O'Connor, where he was head of the New York City Private Client Services Group.
• Royer Cooper Cohen Braunfeld has added two partners to New York office. Donna Tobin, formerly co-chair of the trademark and brand management group at Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz, will lead the firm's newly formed trademarks & brands group. Richard Siegal will join the firm's corporate & business, private client services and tax groups. He joins from Schiff Hardin where he was a partner in that firm's tax and estate planning departments.
• Sally King has joined Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler as chief operating officer. She was formerly chief operating officer at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld.
• Andrew Grumet has joined Polsinelli as a shareholder and chair of the firm's nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations practice group. He joins from Drinker Biddle and brought a three-person team with him: associate Christina Cahill, Nicole Ribeiro, director of strategic philanthropy and Erica Seaborne, manager of strategic philanthropy.
• Chris Pearson, a partner at Norton Rose Fulbright in it's corporate, M&A and securities group, has relocated to New York from the firm's London office.
• Matthew Frankle has joined Haynes and Boone as a partner. He joins from Greenberg Traurig where he was a shareholder.
• Peter Lutz has joined Hodgson Russ as a partner in the firm's real estate practice.
• Litigation funder Validity Finance has added Ronit Cohen as a new portfolio counsel. She joins from Bentham IMF.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi, is 3:24-cv-11294, Graco Inc. et al v. Devco Corporation.

Yalowitz of Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer have entered their appearances for Hanaco Venture Capital and its executives, Lior Prosor and David Frankel, in a pending securities lawsuit. The action, filed on Dec. 24 in New York Southern District Court by Zell, Aron & Co. on behalf of Goldeneye Advisors, accuses the defendants of negligently and fraudulently managing the plaintiff's $1 million investment. Attorneys from A&O Shearman has stepped in as defense counsel for Toronto-Dominion Bank and other defendants in a pending securities class action. The suit, filed Dec. 11 in New York Southern District Court by Bleichmar Fonti & Auld, accuses the defendants of concealing the bank's 'pervasive' deficiencies in regards to its compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and the quality of its anti-money laundering controls. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian, is 1:24-cv-09445, Gonzalez v. The Toronto-Dominion Bank et al.

Crown Castle International, a Pennsylvania company providing shared communications infrastructure, has turned to Luke D. Wolf of Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani to fend off a pending breach-of-contract lawsuit. The court action, filed Nov. 25 in Michigan Eastern District Court by Hooper Hathaway PC on behalf of The Town Residences LLC, accuses Crown Castle of failing to transfer approximately $30,000 in utility payments from T-Mobile in breach of a roof-top lease and assignment agreement. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Susan K. Declercq, is 2:24-cv-13131, The Town Residences LLC v. T-Mobile US, Inc. et al.

Wilfred P. Coronato and Daniel M. Schwartz of McCarter & English have stepped in as defense counsel to Electrolux Home Products Inc. in a pending product liability lawsuit.
