Practice Profile: Jomaire Crawford represents individuals and corporations on both the plaintiff and defense side in a wide range of complex commercial and corporate disputes and international investigatory matters, including in cases where large and high-profile transactions are involved. Ms. Crawford has experience advising clients facing and pursuing litigation, including under federal securities laws, state contract and tort law, foreign bank secrecy and disclosure blocking laws, and state corporate law. She has also achieved favorable resolutions of numerous multi-million dollar disputes without resort to litigation.

Leadership, Pro Bono and Civic Work: With the firm's support, Ms. Crawford maintains a robust pro bono practice—volunteering over 100 hours every year to clients in need. In recent years, she has served as pro bono immigration counsel for the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG), discovery and settlement counsel through the Southern District's Office of Pro Se Litigation, and Criminal Justice Act (CJA) counsel in a federal narcotics case.

A leader in the bar community, Ms. Crawford also sits on the board of the Metropolitan Black Bar Association, is an active member of the New York City Bar Association, the Association for Black Women Attorneys, and the Advancement Initiative, and is currently serving a two-year term as a Business Law Fellow with the American Bar Association's Business and Corporate Litigation Committee.

What advice would you give to young lawyers? Law practice is a relationship-based profession. So while billable hours are important, the internal relationships you develop within your firm and your external relationships in the broader legal community are just as significant.
