Practice Profile: A member of the country's leading media and entertainment practice group, Rachel Strom represents clients in defamation, invasion of privacy and copyright matters. Her passion and resourcefulness in upholding the speech rights of her clients has won her tremendous loyalty—from companies both established and emerging. She knows her clients' business, their risk tolerance, and their priorities, so she can be a true counselor and offer service particularized to them.

In addition to handling high-stakes litigation for many media companies, Ms. Strom provides pre-publication/pre-broadcast counseling for a wide range of clients, including the leading podcast producers. She spends her Saturday nights delivering real-time advice to the A&E show "Live PD," which follows police precincts around the country on their nighttime patrols and live-broadcasts select encounters.

Leadership, Pro Bono and Civic Work: Ms. Strom has played a critical role in ensuring public and media access to recent legal proceedings involving members of our government that are the subject of intense public interest. For example, she successfully argued for the public release of search warrants that federal authorities used to raid the offices of then-Trump lawyer Michael Cohen. Front-page stories resulted from the court-ordered release of the information in March 2019. She previously won access to a headline-making hearing regarding the documents seized in the raid.

Prior Experience: Ms. Strom started her career at Hogan Lovells and later became a partner at Levine Sullivan Koch & Schultz. She joined Davis Wright Tremaine in August 2017.
