Stroock Taps Partners Michele Jacobson and Jennifer Recine To Lead Litigation Practices
And other announcements of recent hirings and promotions of New York attorneys.

• Stroock & Stroock & Lavan has tapped partners Michele Jacobson and Jennifer Recine to lead its New York general litigation and firm-wide real estate litigation practices, respectively. Jacobson is a member of the firm's executive committee and a co-chair of its insurance and reinsurance group. Recine joined Stroock's New York office in March 2019 after 14 years with a litigation boutique.
• Hogan Lovells has added Michael Kuh as a partner in the firm's corporate practice. He joins the firm from Latham & Watkins.
• Jeffrey Norton has returned to O'Melveny as a partner in the firm's corporate finance practice. He joins from Dechert.
• Bradley Simon has joined Windels Marx as partner. Prior to joining, he was a partner at Phillips Nizer.
• Mintz & Gold has hired former public company general counsel Lawrence "Lon" Jacobs as a partner in its corporate and media law practice groups. Most recently, Jacobs was executive vice president and global general counsel of Las Vegas Sands.
• Goldberg Segalla has added special counsel Sandra Bonnick to the firm's general liability group in White Plains. Prior to joining the firm, she was executive agency counsel with the New York City Transit Authority Department of Law in Brooklyn.
• Carlos Beato has returned as a member of the government relations and consulting firm Pitta Bishop & Del Giorno and as a partner in the law firm of Pitta LLP. He most recently served as a member of the New York City Council's central staff under Speakers Melissa Mark-Viverito and Corey Johnson.
• Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz has hired Elliott Siebers, former deputy attorney general and chief of the data privacy and cybersecurity section of the New Jersey Attorney General's Office. He will be based in the firm's New York office.
• Tarter Krinsky & Drogin has added three attorneys to the firm's trusts and estates group: Robert Freedman and Barry Lutzky as partners, and Alexis Gruttadauria as an associate. All three were previously at Schiff Hardin.
• Adam Scheinbach has joined Capehart Scatchard as a shareholder in the firm's litigation department. Previously, he was founder of the Law Office of Adam W. Scheinbach and was of counsel for Pinkhasov & Associates.
• Fox Rothschild has hired Maureen Monaghan as a partner in the firm's taxation & wealth planning department. Formerly, she was a partner at Wuersch & Gering.
• Martha Cruz has joined Borah, Goldstein, Altschuler, Nahins & Goidel as a partner in the firm's loft law/loft development practice. She was previously deputy general counsel of the New York City Loft Board.
• Commercial litigation finance company Parabellum Capital has appointed Jiamie Chen as their director of investment initiatives. She joins from the Joseph Saveri Law Firm, where she specialized in complex litigation.
• Blank Rome has hired Kristin Cara as an associate in the firm's real estate group. She joins from Cassin & Cassin.
• Outten & Golden has added five associates to its New York office: Batool Banker, Shira Gelfand, Kendall Onyendu, Eliana Theodorou and Allison Van Kampen. The new associates will contribute to the firm's representation of clients in employee rights matters.

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The case is 1:24-cv-07594, Roy v. Ittycheria et al.

Amy O. Bruchs and Kurt F. Ellison of Michael Best & Friedrich have entered appearances for Epic Systems Corp. in a pending employment discrimination lawsuit. The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The case, assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Anita Marie Boor, is 3:24-cv-00630, Secker, Nathan v. Epic Systems Corporation.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
