A team from James Madison High School from Brooklyn won the final round of the 35th annual Metropolitan MENTOR Moot Court competition at the U.S Court of Appeals in lower Manhattan yesterday.

Since the 1980's, the Justice Resource Center has partnered with Fordham Law School to offer the MENTOR Moot Court competition to NYC high schools.

Approximately 50 high school teams of eight students each competed in single-elimination rounds from November through December.

The team joined, seated left to right,  Judge Sanket Bulsara , Magistrate Judge of the Eastern District of New York; Judge Katharine Parker , U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and Judge Robert Lehrburger, U.S. Magistrate Judge, Southern District of New York for a photo.

The winning team was coached by attorneys from Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft.
