Herrick, Feinstein Promotes Five Attorneys to Partner
And other announcements of recent hirings and promotions of New York attorneys.

- Herrick, Feinstein has elevated Christopher Carty, Leah Kelman, Jared Newman, Brendan Schmitt, and Steven Smith to partner. Their promotions become effective Jan. 1.
- Goodwin has appointed partner and vice chairman Stuart Cable to the firm's newly created role of global chair of M&A.
- Kleinberg Kaplan has added Joshua Kaplan as a partner in its estate planning and administration practice. He arrives from Dechert.
- Foley Hoag has promoted Erik Huestis and Natasha Reed to partners, effective Jan. 1.
- Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler has promoted Rachel Sherman and Edward Smoot to partner. In addition, Abhishek Bapna, Craig Dent, Maren Messing, Lauren Simpson, and Amy Vegari have been elevated to counsel. The promotions are effective Jan. 1.
- Stroock & Stroock & Lavan has promoted David Cheifetz, Christopher Guhin and Dina Kolker to partner. In addition, Elizabeth Carter, Raymond Garcia, Matthew Garofalo, Shauneida Navarrete, Nicholas Richard, Debra Sapp and Gabriel Sasson have been promoted to special counsel. The promotions are effective Jan. 1.
- Pollack, Pollack, Isaac & DeCicco has opened an office in the Midwood section of Brooklyn. This will be the firm's third office in addition to its offices in Manhattan and Peekskill, NY.
- Colin Kirby has joined Foley Hoag as a partner in the firm's venture capital practice. Prior to joining he was counsel at Lowenstein Sandler.
- Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle has added Jason Wright as a litigation partner. Prior to joining he has a private practice in Washington.
- Insurance defense law firm Goetz Schenker Blee & Wiederhorn has changed its name, adding Steven Wiederhorn as a named senior partner. He has been a partner with the firm since 2006.
- Jayne Schreiber has joined Fordham Law School as assistant dean of career planning. Her new role will begin on Jan. 13. She received her Juris Doctor from Northwestern University School of Law, her Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University, and is a member of the Illinois Bar.
- Daniel McAvoy has joined Polsinelli as a shareholder in the firm's securities & corporate finance practice. He was previously with Nixon Peabody.
- Sidley has promoted Christina Prusak Chianese and Blake Fillion to partner, effective Jan. 1.
- O'Melveny & Myers has elected Matthew Hinker and Tracie Ingrasin as partners.
- Susan George has been promoted to counsel at Bressler, Amery & Ross, effective Jan. 1.
- Davidoff Hutcher & Citron has promoted Adam Citron, Alexander Victor, and Josh Krakowsky to partner. Andrew Rafalaf has been promoted to senior counsel.
- Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian has elected Randall Clark as a partner in the firm's corporate and securities practice.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The case is 1:24-cv-07594, Roy v. Ittycheria et al.

The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The case, assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Anita Marie Boor, is 3:24-cv-00630, Secker, Nathan v. Epic Systems Corporation.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
