The Nassau County courts hosted their 15th annual Black History Month celebration at the Nassau County Supreme Court on Friday, Feb. 21. More than 250 guests, including judges, attorneys, elected officials and court staff attended the event. Three  individuals received special honors: Judge Andrea Phoenix of Nassau County District Court received the Alfred S. Robbins Memorial Award; H. Scottie Gourdine-Coads, chair, Civic Engagement NAACP NYS Conference, received The Amistad Presidential Award, and NYS Court Officer Troy M. Coley received The Hon. Michele M. Woodard Service Award.
