Gina Shishima Succeeds Jeff Cody as U.S. Chief Operations Partner at Norton Rose
And other announcements of recent hirings and promotions of New York attorneys.

• Norton Rose Fulbright has appointed Gina Shishima as its U.S. chief operations partner. She succeeds Jeff Cody, who has become the firm's U.S. managing partner. Based in New York and Austin, Shishima will be responsible for the direction of the firm's non-legal operations, including accounting, human resources, information technology, marketing and practice services. Previously, she served as the firm's U.S. head of intellectual property and as the partner heading the firm's diversity and inclusion efforts.
• Robinson+Cole has hired Catherine Duke as the firm's chief talent officer, responsible for the development, performance management, integration and inclusion of the lawyers and staff at the firm. Prior to joining she was the legal director of the labor and employment department at Proskauer Rose.
• Marc Samuel has joined DLA Piper's corporate practice as a partner in the firm's corporate practice. He was previously special counsel at Cooley.
• Emily Meyer has joined the boutique firm Cohen & Buckmann as counsel in its employee benefits & ERISA and executive compensation practices. Formerly she was special counsel at Littler.
• King & Spalding has added Lauren Friedman and Lucila Hemmingsen as partners in its international arbitration practice. They join from Kirkland & Ellis. In addition, the firm has added Shaila Diwan and Alvin Lee as partners to its trial and global disputes group. They both join from Orrick.
• McDermott Will & Emery has hired H. Peter Haveles, Jr. as a litigation partner. Prior to joining, he was a partner at Pepper Hamilton.
• Ally Hack has joined Warshaw Burstein as partner in the firm's real estate and litigation groups. Formerly, he was a member of the real estate litigation group at Cozen O'Connor and was most recently a partner at a boutique commercial litigation firm.
• Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson has elected five new partners and promoted six new special counsel, effective March 1, 2020. The new partners are Jason Greenberg, Kabaye Liku and Nicole Love. The new special counsel are Michael Kleinman, John Lawrence, Mary Beth Houlihan and Roy Tannenbaum.
• Ben Garcia has joined Hogan Lovells as a partner in the firm's finance practice. He joins from Milbank, where he was special counsel in that firm's capital markets group.
• Viviane Eisenberg has joined Moses & Singer as of counsel in the firm's entertainment/media and technology/intellectual property practice groups. Prior to joining she spent over 30 years as an attorney at HBO.
• The Center for Reproductive Rights has hired Andrew "Andy" Sommer as general counsel. He joins from Debevoise & Plimpton where he was a partner, general counsel, and member of that firm's management committee.
• Dentons has promoted five lawyers to partner: Adam Dunst, Christopher Errico, Benjamin Friedman, Jonathan Jacobs and Helen Ogbara Reeves.
• David Milner has joined Ruskin Moscou Faltischek as a partner in the firm's trusts and estates practice. He was previously a partner at Gallet Dreyer & Berkey.
• Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton has promoted Michael Driscoll, Alexis Robinson, Matthew Shatzkes and Amanda Zablocki to partner.
• Hinckley Allen has hired Stephen Rosemarino as an associate in the firm's construction and public contracts group. Before joining, he was an associate at McNamee Lochner in Albany.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson.
