The state Commission on Judicial Conduct is recommending that Broome County Family Court Judge Richard Miller II be removed from the bench after he allegedly made sexist and demeaning statements to a widowed female court clerk, berated and retaliated against another court assistant, and failed to report and pay taxes on more than $65,000 of income.

“It’s nice to know I still have that effect on you,” Miller allegedly said to the widowed female clerk inside the courthouse in 2017, after she made an apology for using a fan to cool down as she experienced a hot flash, according to a determination opinion issued by commission members.
