An attorney from a Long Island firm has been selected to serve a four-year term on the state's Commission on Judicial Conduct, the disciplinary commission announced Wednesday.

The attorney, Ronald J. Rosenberg, is a senior partner at Rosenberg Calica & Birney in Garden City, and his practice includes municipal litigation and transactions, according to the commission. The firm serves clients on Long Island and in New York City.

He has served on the judiciary committee with the Nassau County Bar Association, according to the commission. He is a graduate of the law school at St. John's University and his four-year term on the commission starts Wednesday.

The commission says members of the panel serve without pay and are appointed by the governor, the state's chief judge and leaders in the state Legislature.

Senate Minority Leader John Flanagan, R-Suffolk, appointed Rosenberg to the commission, which reviews misconduct complaints and issues punishment decisions against New York judges.

According to the biography posted on Rosenberg Calica's website, Rosenberg is also a graduate of Hofstra University with a degree in accounting. The bio says "has successfully litigated numerous cases in both state and federal court and represents a diverse group of developers, corporations and high net-worth individuals."
