Emphasizing what she says is former Vice President Joseph Biden’s commitment to “aggressively” defending Americans’ access to affordable health coverage and pointing to the COVID-19 pandemic, New York Attorney General Letitia James on Thursday signed an open letter endorsing Biden for president and joined by every other Democrat state attorney general in the United States.

“There is only one person on the ballot this fall who will fight to defend the Affordable Care Act, fight to rebuild our economy, and fight for the American people, and that man is Joe Biden,” James said in a news release Thursday that included a link to the open letter from the 23 state attorneys general that she said she had helped organize and lead. “Only Joe Biden can be trusted to prioritize the health and safety of the American public as we overcome the COVID-19 pandemic,” she said.
