EDNY Prosecutor Gina Parlovecchio Joins Mayer Brown as Partner

• Federal prosecutor Gina Parlovecchio, has joined Mayer Brown as a partner in the firm's global white collar defense & compliance and regulatory & investigations practice groups in New York. Previously, she was an assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York, where she served as the chief of the office's International Narcotics and Money Laundering Section.
• Hogan Lovells has appointed New York partner Saama Haridi as head of its newly-created Middle East practice group. She has also been named chair of the firm's North Africa practice.
• Julia Petty has joined Vinson & Elkins as counsel in the firm's executive compensation and benefits practice in New York. She joins from Kirkland & Ellis.
• Schulte Roth & Zabel has added Andrea "Andi" Mandell as a partner in its tax group She joins the firm from Dentons, where she was a partner in the capital markets and tax practices.
• Joseph A. Matteo has joined Barnes & Thornburg as a partner in the firm's Litigation Department. He was formerly at Kaplan Rice.
• Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. has named Scott Packman as executive vice president and general counsel.
• DLA Piper has added Michael Haworth as a partner in the firm's real estate practice. He joins from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe.
• O'Melveny has appointed partner Peter Friedman as chair of its bankruptcy litigation practice.
• Tarter Krinsky & Drogin has elevated the following counsels to partner: Debra Bodian Bernstein in the litigation group, Tara Toevs Carolan in the labor and employment group, and Christopher Tumulty in the co-op & condominium and litigation groups. In addition, the firm as promoted the following associates to counsel: Caryn Block in the real estate and commercial leasing groups, Jonathan Hershberg in the labor and employment droup, Jonathan Temchin in the litigation group, and Cathleen Cassidy and Sean Scuderi in the construction group.
• Phillips Nizer has added two partners and three counsel to its intellectual property, family law and commercial litigation practices. Tod Melgar will lead the firm's patent litigation and prosecution practice as a partner in the New York office. He joins from Sills Cummis & Gross. Stephanie Lehman has joined the firm's matrimonial and family law practice as a partner. She joins from Arons & Solomon.
• Fara Rodriguez, also formerly with Arons & Solomon has joined as counsel, along with Elana Henderson and Gerard Haddad, who was previously a partner at Blank Rome, Dickstein Shapiro and Morgan & Finnegan.
• James Guadiana has joined Greespoon Marder as a partner in the firm's tax practice group. He was previously a partner at Barton, LLP.
• Andrew Shore has joined Herrick, Feinstein as a partner in the firm's trusts & estates department group. He joins from Fox Horan & Camerini.
• Kelley Drye & Warren has elected eight new partners: Kimberly Carter, Melissa Gelade, Andrew Homer, Martin Krolewski, Jennifer Norkus, Paul Rosenthal, Robert Slack, and Whitney Smitt. In addition, the firm has promoted the following attorneys to special counsel: Deborah Bilotti, Melissa Brewer, Wendy Clarke, J. Bradford Currier, Levi Downing, Catherine James, Raxak Mahat, Donnelly McDowell, Anne-Marie Mitchell, Jennifer Raviele, Lauren Schlussel, and Nancy Archer Yanochik.
• Philip Corsello, formerly a partner at DLA Piper, has joined Schiff Hardin as counsel in the firm's finance group.

Driscoll from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr have stepped in to represent Symbotic Inc., an A.I.-enabled technology platform that focuses on increasing supply chain efficiency, and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The case is 1:24-cv-07594, Roy v. Ittycheria et al.

The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The case, assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Anita Marie Boor, is 3:24-cv-00630, Secker, Nathan v. Epic Systems Corporation.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
