David Sicular, a leading tax partner in New York at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, died unexpectedly July 17 as a result of a fall, his family said. He was 63.

Sicular first joined Paul Weiss as a summer associate in 1982 after graduating from Harvard Law School. Over the nearly 38 years he worked at the firm, 25 of which he was partner, Sicular counseled scores of clients and served in various leadership roles within the New York State Bar Association’s tax section, including as chair in 2015.
