A state disciplinary commission says an upstate New York judge is resigning after being accused of improperly executing "various judicial duties."

The Commission on Judicial Conduct on Tuesday announced that Plymouth Town Court Justice Gladys C. Branagan will leave office on Aug. 31. The commission, in a press release, said the judge has agreed to not accept a judicial office in the future.

According to the commission's press release, Branagan was accused of failing to report or remit at least $14,500 in court funds to the state comptroller's office from August 2001 to November 2008.
