Linda Hirshman, the lawyer and author of a book about Supreme Court Justices Sandra Day O’Connor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, has accused a Los Angeles-based entertainment attorney of trying to sabotage her efforts to take her work to the screen.

In a lawsuit, filed Tuesday in Manhattan federal court, Hirshman claimed that Don Franzen, a practicing attorney and adjunct professor at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, had misrepresented his rights to Hirshman’s book “Sisters in Law” and interfered with negotiations to option the 2015 best-seller to actress Alyssa Milano’s production companies.
