New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo notched a legal victory Tuesday when a federal judge dismissed a lawsuit that challenged his authority to impose a two-week quarantine on certain out-of-state travelers.

The lawsuit centered on a move from the Cuomo administration to require people to quarantine if they come to New York from states with significant community spread of the coronavirus. Cuomo codified the effort in an executive order, which said that a violation of a quarantine or isolation order could lead to a $10,000 civil penalty.
