New York officials outlined coronavirus protocols for gyms on Monday and said facilities could open their doors as early as next week after months of forced shutdowns by the state.

But an attorney behind multiple lawsuits challenging the state’s gym closures says the litigation will continue on with “takings” claims, arguing that businesses were forced to shut down and should be compensated for an unjust closing.
