A veteran Manhattan litigator has been immediately suspended from practicing law, pending possible further action by a state appeals court, after he was accused by a client of never filing her personal injury lawsuit despite having her paperwork for three years and then, as an attorney grievance committee investigated him, ignoring some nine attempts by the committee to reach him, including by subpoena.

Lawrence A. Doris, who according to legal websites practices general and employment litigation and has 39 years of experience, also has been accused by the client of telling her, when she asked about the status of her case, that the “court process was slow,” according to an Appellate Division, First Department decision suspending him.
