U.S. District Judge Gary Brown of the Eastern District of New York is moving forward with plans to hold two bench trials in the coming weeks, while the Eastern District of New York’s freeze on jury trials remains in place due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The first trial will start “as soon as practicable” after a Sept. 8 conference to discuss logistics related to the pandemic, Brown wrote in a minute order Tuesday.
