Antoinette T. Bacon, associate deputy attorney general for the U.S. Department of Justice, was named acting U.S. attorney for the Northern District of New York on Thursday.

Bacon, according to her biography, is “one of the country’s premier public corruption attorneys” and is the national elder justice coordinator. The biography noted she has successfully prosecuted almost 100 “targets” and led one of the largest corruption cases in the nation.
