Since biblical time at least two things remain constant. There is always a human need for conflict resolution and there is always impending catastrophe. Spring festivals exist for all religious and civilizations, and they are frequently intertwined with epidemics, danger and death.

Legal representation probably arose after the medical profession, but probably not long after. We know of ancient judicial systems designed to rationalize conflict resolution. Our laws have been a very long time in production and change. Conflict resolution remains necessary, even in a plague when it becomes all the more difficult.
