On Oct. 5, the Office of the Appellate Defender (OAD) will host its 27th annual First Monday in October virtual gala and mock Supreme Court argument.

Roberta Kaplan of Kaplan Hecker & Fink and Sharon Nelles of Sullivan & Cromwell will present arguments in Baxter v. Bracey, a case that asks whether the doctrine of qualified immunity should be narrowed or abolished. They will each receive OAD’s prestigious Gould Award for Outstanding Oral Advocacy.
