Andrew Krause, an assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of New York, has been appointed to serve as a federal magistrate judge in White Plains, acting U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss' office announced Tuesday.

Krause, a 2005 graduate of Harvard Law School, worked for eight years in the office's civil division prior to his selection by the Southern District's board of judges. Most recently, he served as the division's senior litigation counsel and professional responsibility officer, leading training efforts and supervising civil trials.
