A group of New York lawmakers are adding their names to the growing chorus opposing the termination of 46 judges due to an approximate $300 million cut to the judiciary budget.

Two dozen state lawmakers are behind a letter to Chief Judge Janet DiFiore outlining their objections to forcing out the judges, saying the move will unfairly harm one of the poorest counties in the state and impact other areas that have historically not had enough judgeships for their caseloads.
