What are some of the department's most satisfying successes of the past year and why? First, I'm proud of not just the many important wins that we achieved for our financial institution clients, but of the number of partners in our group who contributed to these results. We draw from a deep bench that is key to our success. The hallmark of Sullivan & Cromwell is truly a culture of collaboration.

I'm also particularly proud of how many young partners led these efforts, including Andrew Finn, who has played a prominent role in the post-Cyan securities cases, and Christopher Viapiano, who was key to the Wells Fargo resolution and represented MUFG, the largest bank in Japan, in the antitrust benchmarking litigation. (Both are under 40.)
