Chief Judge Janet DiFiore says the Bronx and Queens on Nov. 4 are expected to start their first new criminal jury trials since March, the month the coronavirus pandemic upended normal life in New York.

The chief judge made the comments on Monday in a video statement. On Monday, there was also the restart of new criminal jury trials in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Staten Island, with only one trial in each of those areas, she said in the video.
