As controversy over the cutting of 46 senior judges from the state court system continues to mount, the state Assembly’s judiciary committee has announced it will hold a public hearing Nov. 12 to examine the impact of losing the experienced judges on the court system’s delivery of justice.

The hearing, which was publicly posted within hours of five Appellate Division justices Thursday filing a state constitution-based lawsuit against the court system, will also examine how Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s $300 million court-system budget cut will affect, more broadly, the sprawling state system’s staffing and functioning.
