Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan partner William Burck informed U.S. District Judge Analisa Torres of the Southern District of New York on Friday that the firm is withdrawing as counsel to former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, who has been charged with fraud and money laundering.

Bannon pleaded not guilty in August to the charges, which relate to the online “We Build the Wall” crowdfunding campaign. The campaign raised more than $25 million in support of President Donald Trump’s efforts to build a wall on the United States’ southern border, but prosecutors say Bannon and a group of alleged co-conspirators worked to defraud hundreds of thousands of donors.
