The court system, in part, cited a lawsuit challenging the move as a reason why none of their officials appeared at the Thursday legislative hearing.

Judicial associations and other legal groups ramped up pressure on New York state court administrators Thursday by publicly attacking the system's decision to terminate dozens of older judges.
Top court system officials, who are facing a firestorm of criticism over the decision to force out 46 older judges, were no-shows at a state legislative hearing Thursday. The termination decision is in response to a 10% cut to the judiciary budget.
