As a solo practitioner who represents indigent defendants, I find the conduct of big law firms, afraid to stand their ground and represent a highly visible unpopular client, an embarrassment to the profession. Lawyers are often the subject of ridicule, disdain and vilification when representing clients disparaged in the public eye.

Rules of Professional Conduct Section 1.2 (b) (22NYCRR 1200) provides "A lawyer's representation of a client, including representation by appointment, does not constitutes an endorsement of the client's political, economic, social or moral views or activities."
