More than 5,000 attorneys participated in the New York State Judicial Committee on Women in the Courts’ Gender Survey 2020, which examined the experience of women in the court system and how it has changed since an earlier study was conducted in 1986.

Even though the number of female judges and court employees in New York has risen in recent years, the study, which was published Monday, found that women still face higher levels of sexual harassment than men and are more likely to have their credibility questioned.
