A federal judge in Buffalo has rejected a proposed class action accusing Just Energy New York Corp. of gaming deregulation in the energy market to charge customers exorbitant electricity rates.

The ruling, handed down last week by U.S. District Judge William M. Skretny of the Western District of New York, came as a win for independent energy supply company Just Energy and its attorneys from Boies Schiller Flexner and Bond, Schoeneck & King, who had argued in court filings that the case was a "lawyer-driven" suit deficient in merit on its claims for breach of contract and unjust enrichment.
