New York state judges filed a second lawsuit late Tuesday against the leaders of the Unified Court System, arguing that the court system as a whole will be harmed by the decided to cut 46 older judges amid budget challenges.

Stroock & Stroock & Lavan is representing the plaintiffs in the suit, including the Association of the Justices of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, the Supreme Court Justices’ Association of the City of New York and six individual judges who were denied certification in September amid an approximate $300 million cut to the judiciary budget.
