"It is clear that in this time of crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic that the termination of trial judges in Suffolk County and Appellate Division Justices from the Second Department will significantly delay the resolution of cases," the judge wrote in the ruling.

A Suffolk County judge denied a change-of-venue motion Thursday in a closely watched lawsuit from older appellate judges who are being forced off the bench due to a budget cut.
On the motion, Judge Paul Baisley Jr. ruled against top court officials who sought to move the lawsuit from Suffolk County to Albany County.
