A Manhattan federal judge has approved more than $1.6 million in attorney fees for two firms that secured a nearly $1 million jury verdict in favor of a former UBS Securities analyst who claimed he was fired from the bank for refusing to alter independent research analysis to impress investors.

U.S. District Judge Katherine Polk Failla of the Southern District of New York on Wednesday granted more than $1.2 million to Stulberg & Walsh, which represented plaintiff Trevor Murray in nearly seven years of litigation stemming from his firing in 2012, as well as another $345,000 to Herbst Law for stepping in to assist at trial.
