The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York's first case of fraud related to the Paycheck Protection Program was unsealed Monday, with prosecutors alleging that a Brooklyn man lied to obtain a $1.9 million loan from the federal program during the early months of the coronavirus pandemic.

Leon Miles, 51, is charged with wire fraud after allegedly creating fake tax documents to claim that his company, 114 Macon LLC, had 50 employees and an average monthly payroll of $761,838.00, according to court documents.
