Woman writing on notebook. The relentless viciousness of the bar's attacks on President Trump have left me despairing for the state of the law in this country. The mob will, of course, have its way with the president but before the various bar associations and media realize what they have done, it may be appropriate to recall The Ox-Bow Incident. Nor should we overlook especially Robert Bolt's A Man for All Seasons in which Roper is admonished, to paraphrase: If you cut down all the laws in England to get at the Devil, where will you hide when the Devil turns on you? Passion and self-righteousness at the expense of reason come with a harsh price. And it will be paid.
