A group of adult entertainment venues in New York City filed an equal protection lawsuit against Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the State Liquor Authority, complaining that their businesses remained shuttered due to the pandemic while others have been allowed to reopen.

The lawsuit, filed last week in Manhattan federal court, assailed “arbitrary and unconstitutional” reopening decisions that began to take effect in recent weeks, as the COVID-19 vaccines came online and the public health crisis began somewhat to abate.
