Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan’s former IT director for its East Coast and Midwest operations is suing the firm in New York federal court for discrimination based on his Spanish origin.

Nicholas Mondelo said in a complaint filed Tuesday that he was subjected to a racist slur by the firm’s national IT director and that two partners failed to step in when that manager continued to impede his performance. He added that the partners’ indifference placed him in a position where the manager, defendant David Eskanos, was able to blame him for a failed technical upgrade in the firm’s New York office.
