A lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of New York’s COVID-19 eviction moratorium law was reassigned Monday to U.S. District Judge Joanna Seybert of the Eastern District of New York, part of a larger shuffling of cases in response to the death of Seybert’s colleague, U.S. District Judge Sandra Feuerstein, in a Florida hit-and-run crash April 9.

Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher partner Randy Mastro, who is representing the plaintiff group of small landlords, filed a letter to Seybert on Tuesday, noting that motions are pending in the case.
