A group of New York Democrats in the Legislature are pushing for a state bill that would seal or expunge certain criminal convictions.
Supporters of the bill on Thursday called for the passage of "clean slate" legislation, saying the measure would help address a practice of mass criminalization that has disproportionately hurt communities of color.
