New York Attorney General Letitia James has won her bid to intervene in a federal lawsuit targeting conservative activists Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman over a racist robocall campaign that allegedly aimed to keep Black people from voting by mail in the 2020 presidential election.

The court order, entered Wednesday by U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero of the Southern District of New York, paved the way for potentially millions of dollars in civil penalties against Wohl and Burkman if James' office succeeds on its claims.
