New York state senators passed legislation on Thursday that would open a one-year legal lookback window allowing survivors of adult sexual abuse to bring forward time-barred claims.
The bill, named the Adult Survivors Act, easily cleared the state Senate, but the legislation still needs to pass the state Assembly and Gov. Andrew Cuomo before becoming law.
